Carye and David

When a couple gets married, love is in the air. And when a couple enjoys being together, it is a wonderful experience to be around them. This is the case of Carye and David, and you can see why.

The more I get to know ’em, the more I enjoy their life together. This is an amazing couple. Glad they are our niece and new nephew.

Annalisa is a beautiful young woman with a bright future. When she applied to be an Ambassador for the 2013 school year, her interest in culture impressed me.

I enjoy talking to her about Opera. We both liked Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata that was played at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House this spring 2012.

Because of the hot weather this summer, we had a session in the studio. Annalisa posed like a pro. I was able to easily capture her spontaneous smile thanks to her confidence in front of the camera.

Annalisa did her own hair style and make-up. Her selection of clothes and colors were of excellent taste. She looks just awesome with those bright eyes and beautiful smile.

Hopefully, the cool weather will allow us to do an outdoor session this Fall.

It is Your Choice

Whoa! Who Said You Had to Go to the School’s “Contract Photographer” for your Personal Portraits?

Let us clear the confusion about “official” or “contract” photographers.

Remember your Freshman and Sophomore pictures? Do you really want a photograph like those to be the one that all of your friends remember you by? Well, the contract photographer is probably the one who created those “gems.” And guess what – your school may try to force you to use them again!

Remember, the school may have a contract for services with a certain photographer, but the school photographer has no contract with you, and you have no purchase obligations to that photography studio.

You still have a choice if your school is really strong-aiming you into using the contract photographer. Let them take your yearbook picture without being obligated to buy anything else. You can then come to Images by Lucila for the portraits you really want.

Although Images by Lucila is not the contract photographer for your school, or any other school for that matter, we can take your senior photos for use in most school yearbooks by complying with their specifications. If your school does not accept images that are not taken by the contract photographer, we will discount the session fee to compensate for the fee you will be charged by the school photographer for your yearbook photo, and make you happy with the images that you really want.

It is Not A Great Deal If…

You Do Not Get Great Pictures!

By now, you have probably received mailings from different photography studios all wanting you to choose them as your High School Senior Photographer. Most likely, they had offered discounted session fees or the free wallet specials that everyone has to offer.

All of those things are good, but keep one important fact in mind: – It is not a great deal if you do not get great pictures!

Like everything we purchase, a bargain is only a bargain if the product that you receive is actually worth purchasing. Cheap items are still just cheap items and they don’t last long. Indeed, cheap things end up costing you more in the long run.

At Images by Lucila, our priority is creating the highest quality by a Certified Professional Photographer.

Did you know that most retail studios only require a minimum of 18 years of age to hire their photographers so the studios can pay them the minimum wage? What can you expect?

Not only has Lucy trained with the finest photographic instructors worldwide to provide a level of craftsmanship that is second to none. Lucy has earned awards in the field of professional photography and most likely will compete with your images.

The point is as simple as this: Lucy hates to offer fake promotions to get you in the door because Lucy is confident that you will LOVE your portraits.

At Images by Lucila, we take the time to let you express yourself in each image. You can bring along your pets, your car, anything… Oh, and remember to bring your favorite music so you can listen to it during your extensive portrait session.  Lucy will make your photos personal and not just like everyone else.

My recommendation to you: Don’t just consider specials or bottom-line pricing when making a choice for your everlasting memories. Remember, your Senior High School photos are the most important memories that you have ever had taken of you.

Make the right choice for you: call Lucy at 972-517-2136. This is one choice you will never regret.

Your Satisfaction Guaranteed!

When I met Kayla I could not believe how much we look alike. Then, when I photographed her, I was captivated by the uniqueness of her personality. Interestingly, Kayla does not like to smile. I don’t like to smile either and I understand why: the shades from our chicks do not flatter our expression. Yet, when Kayla looks at the camera with her sweet eyes, she captivates the viewer.

I enjoyed the session with this wonderful fifteen-year old person and I am very proud of her. Kayla is fun to be with: playful, and eager to pose until the end of the day.

Kayla impressed me with her positive attitude about life. All moms would be proud of having a daughter like her.

Hope you enjoy the images. Lucy

The Artistic Touch

Even the most subtle touch is necessary to transform a good image into a spectacular image. After taking the picture with the camera, I take the time to create images worth displaying in your home or your album. That is why I consider giving a disk with all the images in “JPG format” an incomplete work. What can you do with all the JPGs that would be worth your investment?

Thus, once I take the pictures with the camera, my service to you is rendering the images into works of art. Well, let us accept that even though I may find wonderful backgrounds, the surroundings may not always be perfect. Maybe there are distracting objects that need to be removed, or maybe there are blemishes that need to be removed, or even more, it would be necessary soften your skin to give it a spectacular look.

It takes time to transform simple images into works of art. Through this process, I ensure that your investment is worth. At the end, you will receive albums and portraits of the highest quality representing your personality in a beautiful and artistic manner.

Below are samples of “Before” and “After” images so you can understand the importance of this necessary artistic process.

As you can see, our beautiful model needs little to look great. However, the artistic work is way superior to the original capture.

Not all people are happy with a simple picrture in JPG format where sometimes the background is distracting. Instead, they prefer to have their pictures taken by professionals who spend time enhancing the quality of the images.

The image of your daughter turning fifteen offer the most valuable token to your family.

Her image should represent her splendor.

That is why I take the necessary time to bring up the best from every single image. So, what do you prefer? A simple picture in JPG, or an artistic representation by Images by Lucila…

So, do you really want JPGs?

Nowadays, almost everybody can take pictures of acceptable quality by simply using state-of-art cameras. Many photographers take pictures, download lots of images into a CD using the commonly known JPEG file format, and give the CD to their customers. If you are only familiar with JPEGs, this offer may look attractive because it would give you the illusion that you have control over your budget. However, you may end up getting little value for your investment.

Professional Photography requires more than just JPEGs. It requires the ability to enhance the image to achieve artistic results. There is a format called RAW that satisfies the needs of demanding photographers. Unlike JPEG format that compresses the pictures by discarding information determined to be unnecessary and reducing a file to almost one twentieth its original file, RAW formatted files offer the artist more opportunities to refine the images because all of the information is saved in a RAW file.

JPEG file format has its advantages. With such a small size, it saves space in your computer. It is easy to transmit images electronically as well. Unlike many professional labs, most retail labs require JPGs over other file formats because of the huge amount of images these labs process daily. Thus, JPGs not only are acceptable, but recommended for your everyday pictures. However, there is a better way to treat your special memories.

As an example, the photographer caught the image in RAW file format and transformed it straight into JPEG without any retouching. Because the model is pretty, you may think that the image does not need additional work.

However, transforming a simple image into a work of art requires vision, knowledge, and dedication. At your wedding or special event, each moment is unique and deserves all the necessary care, attention, and expertise to bring up its best. That is why RAW is the format of choice by the artistic photographer who then spends all the necessary time enhancing it.

In this image, the artist transformed it into a special, more inspiring image by removing small nuances and distractions, by subtly adjusting tonal values, by warming up or adjusting skin tones, by making the eyes and hair shine, and much more. The artist can then use these beautiful images for inspiring wall portraits, memorable albums, and a wide variety of products. Rarely does a professional give away digital images, unless there is a compensation for the time she or he spent enhancing the images, as well as her expertise.

Can you perceive the difference? I hope this article helps you understand what it takes for Professional Photographers to meet your demands. I also hope it empowers you to make the right choice because, most likely, you will receive from Professional Photographers what your investment is worth.

Again, do you really want JPGs for your special memories?

Finding Your Inner Self

I really enjoy photographing young people.

I want to bring out the extraordinary in you. You are special, and I want to capture your special inner self.

That is why I start where the work of an average photographer ends. Let us face it, an average photographer may spend a couple of hours taking several pictures of you, and then giving you a CD with a bunch of images coming out straight from the camera. You may be happy with that, yet you have no clue that you deserve more than a bunch of unretouched pictures.

I can do better. First of all, I take the time to get to know you so I can capture your personality. Then, I spend all the time I need to create that Special Image of You. Sometimes, you don’t even realize how brilliant you are until you see what I see beyond your eyes: your inner self along with an artistic touch.

Still don’t know what I mean? Let me give you examples.

Here is an image of a Senior. It looks like something you would get at JC Penney, right? It is nice, no doubt. You would probably want to have several wallet-size or gift-size pictures so you can share with family and friends.

Now, look at the artistic interpretation of the same image.

Your parents would be proud of displaying a huge wall portrait of you in the main area of their home.

Okay, here is a nice wallet size or gift size souvenir that would come straight from the camera. It is nice, no doubt.

Yet here is the artistic interpretation of the ordinary picture.

Your parents would be proud of displaying a huge wall portrait of you in the main area of their home.

Remember, in a couple of months, you will pack your clothes to go to college. Leave a true legacy of the Special YOU.
